Story 9
After some time, Varsha became busy with her own life. One day, as it began to rain, she felt a sudden and strong urge to return to the village. The sound of the rain brought back memories—especially of her old and trusted friend, Manoj. She remembered that he had moved back to the village and started living there, but she was unsure whether he still stayed at the same place.
After some effort, she managed to contact him. Manoj informed his elder brother, Kishore, about her call. When Varsha and her friend Aarti later visited the village, they spent some time walking around the house. During this time, Varsha sensed that Kishore wanted to say something to her.
Finally, Kishore opened up and shared everything. He told her that after she had left, Manoj had not handed over any responsibility to him. Their father owned only a small piece of land and an old house, which lacked even basic facilities like electricity and water. Because of these difficulties, Kishore had been forced to leave everything behind and move elsewhere in search of a better life.
After sharing his story, Kishore quietly left them and returned to his home.
The next day, Varsha asked one of her employees, Ramesh, to help her. She handed him some documents and sent him to Kishore’s village to assess the situation. When Ramesh reached the village, he saw the poor living conditions. Despite all the hardships, Kishore was still working hard and honestly.
Ramesh spoke to him and asked about his family. Kishore explained that he did not have proper facilities even for farming, which made life extremely difficult.
Ramesh returned and told Varsha everything he had seen. Deeply moved, Varsha collected money from her friends and, along with Ramesh, went to Kishore’s village. Seeing the situation with her own eyes, she understood the depth of his struggles.
Within a short time, Ramesh managed to arrange basic facilities like electricity and water for Kishore. Grateful for the help, Kishore requested that Varsha’s name be written on the water pump so that the entire village would know about her kindness.
However, Varsha gently refused. She did not want recognition for her help. Instead, she quietly supported Kishore further by giving Ramesh money to continue assisting him for a few more days.
Soon, people in the village came to know about Kishore’s situation and the help he had received. Varsha’s kindness made a real difference in his life, even though she never sought any credit for it.
